Of the remaining teams, only Manchester City and Ipswich—who last won the cup in 1978—have previously lifted the trophy. Meanwhile, Fulham, Palace, Bournemouth, and Brighton are all still in search of their first FA Cup triumph.
Former Manchester City and Aston Villa defender Micah Richards described the tournament as “wide open” and an opportunity for an unexpected winner.
“All the [other] big teams are out. Manchester City are obviously the strongest team left in there. This is what we wanted, teams to get a chance,” Richards said on BBC One.
