The Niger State Police Command has arrested Alhaji Sabo Manigi, a 70-year-old suspect, for allegedly stabbing Inspector Musa Nasiru to death in the Mashegu Local Government Area of the state.

Before his death, the deceased was a prosecutor attached to the Magistrate’s Court in Mashegu.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Wasiu Abiodun, stated in a press release that the suspect was tracked and arrested on February 25, 2025, at about 3 pm in Bode-Saadu, Kwara State, following a thorough investigation.
He explained that the 70-year-old murdered the police prosecutor over a minor misunderstanding and then escaped to an unknown location until his arrest.

The PRO disclosed that the suspect confessed to the crime and is currently under investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Minna.
He will be charged in court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
