Before this game, Palmer had scored all 12 of his previous penalties, usually choosing accuracy over power. Earlier in the season, he even scored Panenka-style penalties against Brighton and Tottenham. However, this time, he went for power and aimed for the left side of the goal. Leicester’s goalkeeper, Mads Hermansen, reacted quickly and saved the shot.

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer said Palmer’s penalty did not show much confidence. He explained that Palmer went for power instead of precise placement, and Hermansen did well to stop it.
