EKO HOT BLOG reports that Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, emphasized that the president is committed to implementing long-term policies rather than engaging in political maneuvering. In a post on 𝕏, Dare highlighted key improvements in Nigeria’s financial indicators under Tinubu’s leadership.
“We’ve seen our foreign reserves go up. We’ve seen inflation come down. We’ve seen our trade surplus go up. We’ve seen exports rise while imports have dropped,” Dare stated.
According to him, over $50 billion in investments have been attracted, and prices of goods are beginning to stabilize. He insisted that Tinubu is focused on ensuring lasting economic recovery rather than planning for re-election.
“I think the next election is not really in his view right now. His priority is to ensure that by the end of his first term, he can confidently say, ‘I have impacted Nigerians and turned the economy around,’” Dare added.
His remarks come amid growing political realignments, with efforts underway to establish a strong opposition coalition against Tinubu in 2027.
Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has reportedly taken a leading role in the opposition movement following his recent defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Sources suggest that El-Rufai’s move is part of a broader strategy to unite aggrieved APC elements into a formidable political bloc.

Investigations indicate that El-Rufai has begun consultations with key political figures, including former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, as well as former APC National Chairmen Abdullahi Adamu and John Odigie-Oyegun.
