As part of this program, the Ministry is inviting Skill Training Centres (STCs), Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs), and Mastercraft Persons (MCPs) to register for accreditation.
Accreditation is necessary to ensure that training centres meet required standards and provide high-quality education. It also enables accredited centres to receive government funding to train candidates under the TVET Program.

Eligibility and Requirements for Accreditation:
1. Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs):
Must be registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as a legal business entity.
Must adopt and follow the National Skills Qualification (NSQ)-Based Curricula to maintain consistent training standards.
Each trade must have at least one qualified instructor, with a ratio of one instructor to a maximum of 40 students (1:40).
Each institution must have a Quality Assurance Assessor (QAA) and an Internal Quality Assurance Manager (IQAM) responsible for maintaining training quality. If these positions are not available internally, institutions may hire part-time personnel.
2. Skill Training Centres (STCs):
Must also be registered with the CAC to operate legally.
Must adopt NSQ-Based Curricula to ensure training aligns with national standards.
Each training program must have a qualified instructor or an experienced artisan who holds at least an NSQ Level 3 certification.
STCs must employ one QAA and one certified IQAM to oversee training quality and compliance. If needed, these roles may be filled by part-time staff.
3. Mastercraft Persons (MCPs):
Must have either CAC registration or a valid National Identification Number (NIN) to qualify.
Must adopt the NSQ-Based Curricula for their training programs.
Must have at least one qualified instructor or an experienced artisan with an NSQ Level 3 certification to deliver training.
The training environment must include basic facilities such as workshops for practical sessions and restrooms for trainees.
MCPs must keep records of all past training programs and certifications awarded to participants to demonstrate their track record.
Benefits of Accreditation:
Accredited training centres and mastercraft persons will be eligible to receive government funding to train Nigerians under the TVET Program. This funding will help cover training costs, improve facilities, and expand access to quality vocational education. By supporting these institutions, the Ministry aims to create a skilled workforce capable of meeting the demands of modern industries and reducing unemployment.
How to Apply:
Interested Skill Training Centres, Vocational Enterprise Institutions, and Mastercraft Persons should apply for accreditation through the NBTE Digital Portal: www.digitalnbte.nbte.gov.ng/TVET/TVETApplication2.
