During the court session, Agabi publicly apologized on behalf of Kanu, acknowledging past outbursts and extending apologies to Justice Nyako, the prosecution team, and Kanu’s legal representatives. He noted that Kanu had been angry for a long time and admitted that his attacks on Justice Nyako were unjustified. “Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN—a highly respected figure—acted to smooth ruffled feathers within the bar and bench, particularly following my husband’s frustration-driven outbursts that led to Justice Binta Nyako’s recusal,” she said.
