With just a month left before the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations begins, Ivory Coast has pulled out as the host country.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) had chosen Ivory Coast to host the tournament in 2024. However, on Wednesday, the Ivorian government told the country’s football federation to step down from organizing the event.

FIF President Yacine Idriss Diallo confirmed this decision in an official letter. He stated that the government had informed the football federation (FIF) about the withdrawal and that CAF had been notified on March 25, 2025.
