EKO HOT BLOG reports that the first window will open from Sunday, June 1, to Tuesday, June 10, followed by a five-day pause before reopening from Monday, June 16, to Monday, September 1. This adjustment accommodates the new format of the FIFA Club World Cup, which now features 32 teams, mirroring the structure of the FIFA World Cup.
Both Chelsea and Manchester City will represent the Premier League at the tournament, set to kick off in the United States on June 15. By structuring the transfer window in this manner, the league ensures that both clubs can register new signings ahead of the competition.
Under FIFA regulations, each country is permitted a maximum of 16 weeks of transfer activity per year—12 weeks in the summer and four in the winter.
In 2024, the Premier League’s summer window ran from June 14 to August 30. However, to accommodate the Club World Cup, FIFA approved an additional window from June 1-10, allowing participating teams to finalize squad additions.
An extra registration period from June 27 to July 3 will also be available for clubs advancing to the knockout stage.
Manchester City and Chelsea will compete against top clubs including Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal.

To maintain competitive balance, the Premier League has aligned its transfer window with other major European leagues, which traditionally close their summer business at the end of August. This strategic scheduling ensures a level playing field while adhering to FIFA’s global regulations.
