Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim community in Oyo State and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr 2025.
He praised them for their dedication, patience, and sacrifices during the holy month of Ramadan and urged them to continue living by the values they embraced throughout the fasting period.
In his message, Governor Makinde acknowledged the perseverance and faith of Muslims who observed the fast, emphasizing their commitment to prayer, discipline, generosity, and selflessness. He highlighted that Ramadan is not just about abstaining from food and drink but also about strengthening spiritual connections, showing kindness to others, and deepening one’s trust in Allah.

“I congratulate my brothers and sisters in Islam as we mark the end of Ramadan with Eid-el-Fitr. It is a time of joy and gratitude, and I commend everyone for their devotion, patience, and sacrifices over the past month. The values of self-discipline, generosity, compassion, and community support that were demonstrated during Ramadan should continue beyond this celebration,” he said.
Governor Makinde also called on Muslims to continue supporting the government in its efforts to build a peaceful and prosperous society. He stressed the importance of religious tolerance, unity, and good neighborliness, stating that Oyo State has enjoyed religious harmony and should continue to do so.
“As a government, we remain committed to putting the people first and ensuring sustainable development in Oyo State. However, achieving this goal requires a peaceful environment where religious harmony and mutual respect thrive. I encourage all our people to continue working together for the progress of our dear state,” he added.
The governor concluded by wishing all Muslims a happy and peaceful Eid celebration, urging them to pray for the state and the nation. He reminded them that the essence of Eid-el-Fitr is not just about festivities but also about gratitude to Allah, acts of kindness, and helping those in need.
