The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that the Independence Bridge (Marina bound) will be closed starting from Tuesday, April 1, 2025, until the end of May 2025, to facilitate essential maintenance and rehabilitation works.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the announcement was made by the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mrs. Olukorede Kesh, who provided details about the closure and its impact on traffic.

Kesh explained that the closure would affect traffic traveling from Ahmadu Bello Way and Adeola Odeku towards Marina, Eko Bridge, and Onikan by Zone 2.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys and use alternative routes during this period to minimize inconvenience.
In her statement, Kesh apologized for any disruptions the closure might cause and expressed gratitude for the public’s understanding and cooperation.
