Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has admitted that he feels depressed about the ongoing crisis in the state.
His reaction comes after President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State. As a result, Fubara has been suspended for six months, and a sole administrator has been appointed to run the state.

The crisis started because of a political fight between Fubara and his former political mentor, Nyesom Wike, who is now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking to Muslim faithful who visited him for Sallah, Fubara said:
“I may feel a little down because of the situation, but I trust in God. In this season of love and sacrifice, I want you to know that I share in your celebrations.

“Our goal is to build a society where no one is oppressed. Please be patient and avoid provocation. Some people want to destroy this state and take away your livelihood, but we won’t let that happen.
