This is not his first attempt at the governorship seat; he noted that this is his third time aspiring for the position, and he feels a strong connection with the people and leaders of the state. Having been with the APC for three years, he is confident that the party’s leadership is familiar with his work and vision.
Ogunbiyi expressed a strong sense of confidence that should he secure the party’s ticket, the other candidates and party progressives would naturally rally behind him, a unified effort that he believes would lead to a decisive victory in the 2026 election.

He also addressed a crucial question about what he would do if he is not chosen as the flagbearer. In a show of party loyalty, Ogunbiyi pledged to remain fully committed to the APC’s goal of reclaiming the state and promised not to hold any grudges against the party or the eventual winner.
Emphasizing his motivation, he stressed that he is an accomplished individual whose primary desire is to serve the people of Osun State. He further outlined his vision to transform the state, mentioning his involvement with the Osun Development Association.
He aims to move Osun away from being a “civil service state” by implementing a master plan that leverages its abundant resources, such as gold and land for agriculture, to make the state more prosperous and economically vibrant.
