Epe General Hospital has been officially handed over to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC). The transition marks the beginning of full operations by FMC, bringing advanced medical services and improved healthcare facilities to the people of Epe and its environs.
Ekohotblog reports that speaking on the development, the Head of the Social Welfare Department, Mr. Ayanbisi, highlighted the numerous benefits that will come with the upgrade.

According to him, “The transition of Epe General Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre means better healthcare services, modern equipment, and improved medical expertise.

This will greatly enhance service delivery and ensure residents have access to quality healthcare. Patients will now benefit from specialized services such as cardiology, nephrology, orthopedics, oncology, and a well-equipped maternity and pediatric unit.
Additionally, there will be advanced diagnostic services, including CT scans, MRIs, and laboratory investigations to improve the accuracy of medical treatment.”
Patients and residents have expressed their excitement about the change, hopeful that the transition will lead to improved medical care.
A regular patient at the hospital, Mrs. Iyabo , shared her joy, stating, “We have been hearing about this transition for a while, and now that it has finally happened, we expect better services.
The presence of FMC means more specialist doctors and better medical attention for us.”
Another resident, Mr. Bamidele, praised the move, saying, “This is a significant development for Epe. With FMC fully taking over, we believe our hospital will now be at par with other federal medical institutions in the country.
It is a great relief to know that we won’t have to travel long distances for specialist treatment anymore.”
