Everton helped their rivals Liverpool by drawing 1-1 with Arsenal at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Arsenal, in second place with 62 points from 31 games, are now 11 points behind leaders Liverpool, who have one game in hand. Everton move up to 14th with 35 points and are 15 points above the relegation zone.

Arsenal scored first in the 34th minute. A mistake in midfield let Raheem Sterling run forward and pass to Leandro Trossard, who scored with a low shot into the corner.
Everton got a penalty early in the second half after Myles Lewis-Skelly fouled Jack Harrison. Iliman Ndiaye scored from the spot, getting his ninth goal of the season.
Arsenal made several changes to their usual starting team, leaving out key players like Saka and Odegaard. The team didn’t play with much energy and struggled to find a winning goal.
With this draw, Arsenal’s chances of winning the league are now very slim. Their focus may now shift to the Champions League.
