Muslim faithful across Epe Division came together in solemn unity today, June 6th, to celebrate Eid al-Adha, with the Grand Chief Imam and President General of the League of Imams and Alfas, Epe Division, Sheikh Sadala Abiola Aliru, leading the prayer at the Eid ground.
Ekohotblog reports that in his sermon, Sheikh Sadala urged Muslims to remain steadfast in their faith and obedience to Allah, drawing attention to the historical and spiritual significance of the celebration.

“This day commemorates the ultimate act of obedience and sacrifice by Prophet Ibrahim (AS). Let us reflect on this and continue to uphold the values of submission, faith, and charity,” he said.
He also emphasized the proper distribution of the sacrificial meat as a symbol of generosity.
“The meat must be shared in three parts – one for the family, one for relatives and friends, and one for the needy. Generosity is one of the key lessons of today,” he added.
In an interview with Epe Lawa, the Baba Adinni of Epe Division, Architect Abdulwasiu Anifowose, extended warm greetings to the Muslim community.
“Eid al-Adha is not just about the ram sacrifice. It is a call for inner reflection, obedience to Allah, and compassion to humanity,” he said.
He also hinted at the upcoming cultural celebration.
“Our Ojude-Oba celebration will take place on June 8th at the Marina Waterfront. It promises to be a unique and colourful event that will showcase our heritage,” he added.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Chief of Staff, Lagos State, Alhaji Olusanu Kadri, congratulated Muslim faithful and emphasized peaceful conduct.
“Let us celebrate peacefully, obey the laws of the land, and be good ambassadors of our faith,” he said.
Former Vice Chairman of Epe Local Government, Engr. Kenny Kadri Edu, praised the harmony among residents.
“It is heartwarming to see the peaceful coexistence among us. Let us remain dutiful and loyal to our shared values,” she said.

High Chief Muyinudeen Shobaloju, the Sarumi of Epe Kingdom, thanked Almighty Allah for the success of the prayer and paid tribute to the late monarch.
“We thank Allah for granting us the grace to witness another Eid. I also offer special prayers for the repose of our beloved late monarch, HRM Oba Dr. Shefiu Olatunji Adewale. May his soul rest in perfect peace,” he said.
