The suspects, identified as Yemi Aparaojo (33), also known as Asa, and Samuel Adekunle (37), alias Omo-jo–Ibo, were nabbed around 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday by RRS patrol officers.
According to police accounts, the duo, along with two accomplices who are still at large, allegedly assaulted and robbed a pedestrian of ₦25,000 last week after persistently demanding money. When the victim tried to offer assistance, they reportedly turned violent and forcefully took his cash.
Their luck ran out when the victim spotted Adekunle in the same area on Tuesday and quickly alerted RRS officers. The operatives moved swiftly, arresting the two suspects, while the others escaped through Ketu Market.

The statement said, “The operatives of Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS), a unit of Lagos Police Command, on Tuesday morning arrested two notorious traffic robbers operating around Ketu and Mile 12, Kosofe.

The RRS Commander, CSP Sola Jejeloye, said the arrests followed the directive of the state Commissioner of Police, CP Moshood Jimoh, to reinforce security along major traffic corridors prone to criminal activity.
