The Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria Students, University of Lagos Chapter (PANS-UNILAG), has concluded its largest and most impactful edition of the annual PANS Health Week.
Ekohotblog reports that the program was held from June 14th to June 21st, 2025, at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, this year’s celebration themed “Ignite: From Spark to Impact” combined innovation, advocacy, talent, and service into an unforgettable series of events.

With over ten uniquely crafted programs and activities, the 2025 edition of PANS Health Week delivered a powerful message of empowerment and community impact. The week featured an electrifying mix of intellectual engagements, humanitarian outreach, and cultural showcases that touched both the student body and surrounding communities.
One of the major highlights was Pharmathon 2.0, a pharmacy student healthcare hackathon that saw young innovators pitch groundbreaking ideas and prototypes. After a keenly contested competition, Team Medcraft, led by Akinsoyinu Anjola, emerged as champions and clinched the ₦300,000 grand prize.
Team Bytecillin, headed by Olaniyi Emmanuel Oluwadamilare, came in as first runner-up with ₦200,000, while Team Pharmbots, led by Sholanke Semiat Ayomide, secured third place, walking away with ₦150,000.
Speaking on the week’s overall success, Tewogbola Tolulope, Vice President and Head of the PANS Health Week Committee, said, “Our immense gratitude goes to our headline sponsors, Greenlife Pharmaceuticals, Purelife Pharmacy, and Dang Group, whose generous support and belief in our vision made this historic week possible.

Another crowd-pulling event was the Face of Pharmacy 2025 contest. The finale dazzled attendees with an evening of glam, talent, and poise. Chibudom Igbokwe was crowned the male Face of Pharmacy, winning ₦250,000, while Terwase Ohaka took the female crown and an equal cash prize.
The contest was praised for its inclusivity and celebration of excellence, personality, and intelligence among pharmacy students.
Beyond the campus buzz, the week featured impactful outreach programs, including visits to orphanages and underserved communities, where PANS-UNILAG members distributed essential supplies and provided free healthcare services.
The cooking competition also spiced up the week, showcasing the culinary skills and creativity of students.
The week’s symposium stirred thought-provoking conversations around the future of pharmacy in Nigeria. Final-year students added colour to the event with their vibrant outfits and a spirited musical performance that closed the session on a high note.
Reflecting on the week’s achievements, Tewogbola remarked, “The PANS-UNILAG Health Week 2025 was not only a celebration but also a statement.” She added, “This statement is that students, when given the platform, can spark real impact.”
Sharing his thoughts, Chibudom Igbokwe, winner of Face of Pharmacy (male), noted the power of youth-led initiatives.
“The week proved that the future of pharmacy burns bright with passion, purpose, and possibility; from the talent showcases to academic innovations to healthcare outreach to entrepreneurial empowerment, everything screamed competence.”
