The Government of Saint Lucia has awarded one of its highest national honors, the Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Lucia (KCOSL), to Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Eko Hot Blog reports that this was announced in a statement released by the Office of the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia.

The statement explained that the Governor General, acting on the advice of the Government, officially granted the title to President Tinubu in recognition of his outstanding leadership in Africa, his dedication to promoting South-South cooperation, and his efforts to strengthen cultural, historical, and diplomatic relations with the Caribbean.
The Government of Saint Lucia stated that the KCOSL is typically reserved for individuals who have provided distinguished service of national or international importance to the country.

President Tinubu, currently on a historic state visit to Saint Lucia as part of a wider diplomatic tour of the Caribbean and South America, is now among the few African leaders to receive this prestigious honor.
