EKO HOT BLOG reports that Musk, who was Trump’s largest political donor during the 2024 election, previously served as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under Trump’s administration. However, the relationship between the two has soured, with Musk now openly threatening to create a rival political party to challenge Republicans supporting Trump’s controversial “One Big Beautiful Bill.”
Speaking to reporters, Trump, 78, hinted at possible deportation for Musk, despite the Tesla and SpaceX CEO having been a US citizen since 2002.
“We’ll have to take a look,” Trump said when asked about the idea.
Musk responded on his social platform, X, saying, “So tempting to escalate this. So, so tempting. But I will refrain for now.”
Trump also threatened to target the substantial contracts and federal subsidies Musk’s companies, SpaceX and Starlink, currently enjoy.
“We might have to put DOGE on Elon. DOGE might have to go back and eat Elon,” Trump said.
Following Trump’s remarks, Tesla shares dropped by over six percent on Tuesday.
Trump claimed Musk was angry because the bill cut support for the electric vehicle sector.
“He’s losing his EV mandate. Elon can lose much more than that,” Trump warned.

Trump also posted on Truth Social Monday night, saying, “Without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa.”
Musk, who had kept a low profile recently, returned to publicly challenge the bill, accusing Trump of pushing policies that could “bankrupt America.” He has also threatened to form a new ‘America Party’ to oppose Republican lawmakers backing the bill.
