Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections in the state after securing victory in the party’s primary election.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee in Plateau State, Fidelis Mnyim, announced the result on Friday in Jos.
According to Mnyim, Mutfwang polled 233,335 votes to defeat his opponent, retired Commodore Yilchini Bida, who secured 3,070 votes in the exercise.
Declaring the result, Mnyim said the governor satisfied the requirements of the party’s constitution and emerged winner after polling the highest number of valid votes.
“As the chairman of this committee, I wish to declare that Caleb Mutfwang, having scored the highest votes and satisfied the requirements of APC constitution, as the winner of the primary.

“Therefore, he is returned as the elected governorship candidate for Plateau in the 2027 general elections,” he stated.
