Residents of Eredo Local Council Development Area turned out in large numbers on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, to rally support for their council chairman, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) held a mega campaign rally at the Recreation Centre, Epe, ahead of the upcoming local government elections scheduled for Saturday, July 12.
Ekohotblog reports that Supporters from Eredo staged a spirited procession from Odomola to the venue, singing praise songs and chanting slogans in support of Akinloye’s re-election bid. Many held placards and banners that read We Vote for Continuity, reinforcing their desire to see the current administration return for a second term.

The rally brought together APC leaders, party stakeholders, and supporters from all three councils in the Epe Division,Epe Local Government, Eredo LCDA, and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA,with the aim of reaffirming the party’s grassroots strength.
Among the dignitaries present were the party’s Apex Leader in Epe Division, Alhaji Shakirudeen Akanni Seriki (Bamu); former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji; Hon. Wale Raji, member representing Epe Federal Constituency; Hon. Abiodun Tobun and Hon. Sylvester Ogunkelu of the Lagos State House of Assembly; Barr. Saidat Olayinka Oladunjoye, Federal Commissioner of the National Population Commission; and APC State Vice-Chairman (Lagos East), Yeye Olayinka Olusanya.
Addressing the crowd, Rt. Hon. Ikuforiji emphasized the importance of a high voter turnout.
“We must all come out and vote for all candidates of APC. We can all testify that Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, and Akogun Wale Raji-Anomo have changed the narratives of their respective councils with unprecedented developmental projects and services. That is the more reason we must re-elect them,” he said.
He cautioned against political complacency, urging members to approach the local polls with the seriousness of a general election.
“Don’t assume victory is automatic. We must show our political strength with massive voter turnout. That’s how we prepare the ground for the 2027 general elections and reaffirm our loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
Hon. Wale Raji also encouraged continuity, saying, “Our chairmen have done well. Let’s give them another chance to do more. Epe has no opposition; APC remains the people’s party.”
Barr. Oladunjoye and Yeye Olusanya urged members to canvass vigorously at the community level, pointing to the visible achievements of the current administration as proof of effective leadership.

“If you go to their various local governments, you will see the good work they have done. I assure you, they will do even more in their second term,” said Olusanya.
The rally was widely seen as a demonstration of party unity and strength ahead of the 2027 general elections. It reaffirmed grassroots support for President Bola Tinubu and the APC.
Various groups,including transport unions, market associations, youth and student organizations,also joined the event, waving party flags in a colorful show of solidarity and commitment.
