As the July 12 local government pelections draw near, the re-election campaign of Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, continues to gather momentum, with youth leaders and community advocates throwing their weight behind his candidacy.
Ekohotblog reports that One of the most prominent endorsements came on Tuesday from Comrade Ibraheem Ogunbanwo, a renowned grassroots mobiliser and youth advocate across Epe Division.

Ogunbanwo praised Akinloye’s first-term performance, describing him as a “youth-friendly, people-first leader whose tenure has redefined responsive governance.”
In an interview, Ogunbanwo commended Akinloye’s strategic interventions in education, youth empowerment, and infrastructure, stating that his leadership has been a shining example of compassionate and inclusive governance.
“Hon. Akinloye has proven that leadership can be driven by compassion, competence, and character,” Ogunbanwo said.
“He has empowered countless youths through bursaries, vocational training, and the distribution of free JAMB and GCE forms. His administration has actively engaged young people, not just with promises, but with opportunities and inclusion.”
Highlighting some of the chairman’s educational achievements, Ogunbanwo pointed to the renovation and construction of schools, distribution of instructional materials, and support policies that have alleviated financial burdens on many families in the area.
Beyond education, Akinloye’s administration has also been credited with tangible improvements in infrastructure, enhanced community participation, and governance policies that reflect the priorities of the people.
“He is a talk-and-do leader,” Ogunbanwo added. “A vote for Hon. Akinloye is a vote for continuity, for the future of our youth, and for the advancement of Eredo. Let us consolidate on the good work and keep progress alive.”
As campaign activities intensify across Eredo LCDA, Hon. Akinloye’s growing support base is expected to strengthen his chances at the polls.
His re-election campaign has been largely focused on expanding education reforms, youth development initiatives, and completing ongoing infrastructure projects that align with the council’s long-term development goals.
The Lagos State local government elections are set to hold on July 12, 2025, with voters across the state preparing to elect leaders who will steer grassroots development for the next four years.
