EKO HOT BLOG reports that the convicts Shakiru Ajibade, Oluwaseun Fagbemi, and Amos Adesina were found guilty of offences including conspiracy to murder, unlawful killing, and unlawful possession of human parts.
Pelumi went missing in Abeokuta in 2019, sparking panic and prompting a police investigation.
Further inquiries revealed that the teenager had been lured into a remote location, where he was murdered and dismembered.
The accused later sold the victim’s body parts to a local herbalist, who allegedly promised them wealth-enhancing charms in exchange.
Delivering judgment, the presiding judge described the act as “horrific, inhuman, and a gross violation of human dignity.”
Ajibade and Fagbemi were sentenced to death by hanging for their direct involvement in the killing.
Adesina was given a life sentence for playing a lesser but still significant role in the crime.
The case has stirred strong reactions across Ogun State, especially among human rights advocates and community leaders.
Many welcomed the ruling as a necessary step toward ending the menace of ritual killings in the region.
“This verdict is justice for Pelumi and a warning to others,” said a community member outside the courtroom.
The incident had triggered public outrage when it first occurred, with residents demanding immediate justice and government action.
In response, the Ogun State government condemned the crime and pledged full support for law enforcement to bring the culprits to book.
Following the court ruling, security agencies have promised to strengthen surveillance in rural and semi-urban communities.
They urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
The successful prosecution has been described as a milestone in the fight against ritual-related crimes across Nigeria.
It also reinforces public trust in the judicial system, which many believe has now given voice to the victim and his family.
