President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of an Interministerial Committee to oversee the state funeral of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the committee will be chaired by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and is responsible for organizing and coordinating a dignified and well-structured state burial for the late national leader.

Members of the committee include the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning; Minister of Defence; Minister of Information and National Orientation; Minister of Works; and Minister of Interior.
Also on the committee are the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory; Minister of Housing and Urban Development; Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare; Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy; National Security Adviser; Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination; Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters; Inspector General of Police; Director General of the Department of State Services; and the Chief of Defence Staff.

The Permanent Secretary of the General Services Office will serve as the secretariat for the committee.
As a mark of respect, President Tinubu has also directed all ministries, departments, and agencies to open condolence registers at the entrances of their offices, allowing members of the public to pay their respects.
In addition, central condolence registers for the diplomatic corps and the general public will be placed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.
