The Federal Government has officially launched the National Policy on Non State Schools in Nigeria, a major step aimed at reforming the education sector by improving access, ensuring quality, and strengthening accountability, especially within privately operated schools.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, described the new policy as a crucial component of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which places education at the center of national development efforts.
Dr. Alausa explained that the policy aligns with the National Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI), which seeks to drive transformation in the education sector through reforms, innovation, and inclusivity.
The minister emphasized that the policy sets out clear standards for non state schools in areas such as infrastructure, teacher qualifications, and curriculum delivery.
