The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, officially received her Certificate of Return from the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), following her re-election during the recently concluded local government elections.
Ekohotblog reports that the presentation, which took place at LASIEC headquarters, drew political stakeholders, community leaders, and jubilant supporters who gathered to witness what many described as a well-deserved reaffirmation of leadership and service.

Speaking shortly after receiving the certificate, Hon. Animashaun expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Epe for their unwavering support and renewed trust.
“This certificate is not just a document, it is a solemn reminder of the trust our people have placed in me,” she said. “I am deeply honored and ready to continue the work of building a stronger, more prosperous Epe.
Together, we will consolidate our progress and pursue new heights of development with unity, courage, and purpose.”
Her first term in office was marked by notable achievements in education, healthcare, infrastructure development, environmental reform, and empowerment programs for women and youth.
Her re-election was largely seen as an endorsement of her impact and a call for continuity.

Chairman of LASIEC, Hon. Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (Rtd.), who presided over the ceremony, praised the peaceful nature of the elections and the enthusiasm displayed by Lagosians across all local councils.
“We are proud of the peaceful conduct of the 2025 local government elections,” she stated. “This presentation symbolizes the voice of the people and the strength of our democratic institutions.”
Community voices also echoed strong support for Hon. Animashaun. A party leader, Alhaji Rasheed Onilude, noted that her victory was “a confirmation of good governance and grassroots connection.”
“She has been accessible, proactive, and people-driven. Her return means more development for the people of Epe,” he said.
The event also saw the presentation of certificates to other re-elected chairmen and councillors from the Epe Federal Constituency and beyond.
