- Chairman urged responsible use of funds to boost household stability and small businesses.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has overseen the distribution of ATM cards to beneficiaries in the third batch of the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme.
The event, held at the Local Government Secretariat, marked another phase in the administration’s ongoing poverty alleviation and social inclusion drive.
The programme aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and is structured to provide targeted financial support to vulnerable residents across Ibeju-Lekki.
A total of 4,000 beneficiaries were selected from over 11,000 applicants through a transparent, community-based verification process. The initiative focuses on low-income households, widows, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized groups in need of economic assistance.
Each beneficiary will receive ₦100,000 spread over a 20-month period. The financial support is aimed at strengthening household stability, sustaining small businesses, and enhancing economic resilience within the local government area.
Addressing recipients during the distribution, Hon. Olowa urged them to use the funds prudently and productively. He described the intervention as more than financial aid, noting that it represents an investment in the future of families and the broader community.
The Chairman encouraged beneficiaries to prioritize essential needs and channel part of the funds into income-generating ventures, emphasizing that responsible utilization would amplify the programme’s long-term impact.
The third batch distribution follows the successful launch of the scheme in November 2025 and the second phase in December 2025.
Officials confirmed that the initiative remains fully funded by the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to inclusive development and grassroots empowerment.
