EDITOR’S PICKS
A prominent figure in both legal and cultural circles, the deceased was widely known for his decades-long career as an attorney in Houston, where he built a reputation for integrity, professionalism, and a deep commitment to justice.
Colleagues and clients alike described him as a man of quiet strength, known for his meticulous work and compassionate advocacy.

Beyond the courtroom, Johnson was also deeply engaged in community affairs. He was a long-standing member of the Eko Club of Houston and Eko Club International, organisations dedicated to promoting Yoruba culture, mutual support, and development efforts both in the diaspora and in Nigeria.
Friends from these associations remembered him as a tireless contributor who rarely missed a meeting or event, and who mentored younger members with warmth and wisdom.
“Larry was more than just a lawyer, he was a community pillar,” one longtime friend and fellow Eko Club member said. “He gave his time, his voice, and his heart to everything he believed in. His passing is a huge loss not only to his family but to all of us who had the privilege of knowing him.”
Johnson is survived by his wife and children, who have requested privacy as they grieve their departed loved one. Burial arrangements, according to the family, will be announced at a later date.
