The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has extended her congratulations to Nigerian-born education executive Gbemi Disu on her appointment as Senior Vice President for Global Partner Development at WorldQuant University (WQU).
In an official statement released by the Commission’s spokesperson, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Eko Hot Blog reports that Dabiri-Erewa described the appointment as a clear reflection of the exceptional contributions Nigerians in the Diaspora continue to make to top-tier global institutions.

She praised Disu’s new position as a strategic and impactful role that aligns closely with NiDCOM’s mission of mobilizing diaspora talent for both national and international development.
“This appointment highlights the value of expertise that cuts across borders and industries. Gbemi Disu is well positioned to drive inclusive, scalable knowledge exchange, an area increasingly vital as Nigeria and other African nations build talent pipelines in data, technology, and quantitative sciences,” Dabiri-Erewa stated.

She also commended Disu’s diverse professional background, which includes experience across higher education, finance, and energy sectors, with a global footprint spanning North America, Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Dabiri-Erewa encouraged Nigerian academics, researchers, and institutions to explore collaborative opportunities with WorldQuant University through Disu’s leadership as the university expands its global reach and partnerships.
