According to Monitng, a civic platform monitoring public services, the school’s classrooms are dark, unventilated, and falling apart.
A recent inspection revealed broken benches, leaking roofs, and collapsing structures throughout the premises.
“Pupils are forced to learn in an environment unfit for human use,” the group said in a statement.
Monitng noted that the school serves over 10,000 children, yet lacks even the most basic learning infrastructure.
On rainy days, lessons are completely suspended due to flooding and the risk of injury from collapsing ceilings.

Despite repeated allocations running into billions for education in Kano, the school has remained untouched for more than 10 years.
“Kano State has the highest number of out-of-school children in Nigeria, with 1.89 million,” Monitng stated, citing ICIR data.
The group said Karfi residents have submitted multiple petitions to state and federal officials, but no response has followed.
“Children sit on broken benches, exposed to the elements,” Monitng wrote on Twitter. “This is the face of basic education for many Nigerian children.”
They described the situation as a reflection of poor governance and lack of political will to prioritise grassroots education.
“This is not just neglect, it is a systemic failure that must be addressed,” the group said.
Monitng called on the Kano State Government to urgently renovate the school and provide necessary learning materials.
“Every child deserves safe, functional education facilities, regardless of location,” the group added.
