The Bayelsa State Police Command has paraded eight suspts in connection with the abduction of Justice E.G. Omukoro of the Bayelsa State High Court.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Justice Omukoro was kidnapped on June 21, 2025, in Yenagoa and regained freedom after spending 12 days in captivity.

Commissioner of Police, Francis Idu, disclosed during a press briefing on Thursday that the gang leader is still on the run.
“The suspects have all confessed to playing various roles in the abduction of Justice Omukoro,” CP Idu stated.
He praised the Department of State Services (DSS) and other agencies for their role in tracking the suspects and aiding the judge’s rescue.

According to him, the breakthrough was aided by new security technology recently installed across Yenagoa by the state administration.
He reiterated the police’s commitment to rooting out criminal networks and ensuring safety across the state.
Justice Omukoro was reportedly abducted at gunpoint while leaving his residence. His rescue followed days of coordinated surveillance and intelligence operations.
Authorities said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing gang leader and bring all those involved to justice.
