EKO HOT BLOG reports that at the Lagos Parallel Market, also known as the black market, dealers bought the dollar at ₦1,560 and sold at ₦1,550 on Saturday, August 9, 2025, according to Bureau De Change (BDC) sources. The rates, however, may vary depending on location and market conditions.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) maintains that it does not recognise black market transactions, advising individuals seeking foreign exchange to use official banking channels.

At the official CBN window, the dollar traded at rates between ₦1,532 and ₦1,536 to the naira.
