- President Trump claims his name was inserted in Epstein files for revenge

While speaking alongside British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer during a media briefing in Scotland, Trump described the renewed interest in Epstein’s case as “a hoax built up way beyond proportion.” He claimed that the files were previously handled by what he termed “the worst scum on Earth.”
Eko Hot Blog reports that “these files were run by Comey, Garland, Biden, and all those who actually controlled the government. Even the auto pen. They had four years. If there was anything real, it would’ve been released long ago,” Trump declared on Monday.

His remarks came days after a Wall Street Journal report revealed that federal officials had told Trump his name appeared in documents tied to Epstein, the disgraced financier who died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking.
The controversy deepened after a July memo from the U.S. Department of Justice stated that Epstein had no “client list,” and that no further information would be made public. This decision drew backlash from both Democrats and Republicans, who demanded greater transparency.
Former Attorney General Pam Bondi had repeatedly suggested that reviews of the files were ongoing, only for the DOJ to later close the matter without further disclosure. Trump supporters and political opponents alike have since questioned the motive behind the decision.

In his statement, Trump warned that adversaries could have planted false information in the records, comparing the situation to the unverified Russia dossier compiled by ex-MI6 officer Christopher Steele during the 2016 U.S. election.
“Christopher Steele wrote what we now call the fake news dossier. The whole thing was a lie,” Trump said. “They could’ve just as easily put fake things in the Epstein files. These are bad, sick people.”
The former president’s explosive remarks have rekindled debates around Epstein’s network, federal cover-ups, and the alleged political misuse of classified information.
