Meanwhile, in a separate development, the Ondo State Police Command also confirmed the arrest of a woman, Augustina Mowari, for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Michael Ikuedowoni, to death.
The incident occurred on Sunday in Okitipupa, the administrative headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.
Ayanlade said the suspect was immediately taken into custody and is now undergoing interrogation. He noted that investigations have commenced to determine the motive behind the alleged act, which locals link to infidelity.
“These cases are both under active investigation. We urge residents to remain calm as justice will be served,” Ayanlade added.
