Veteran Nollywood actress Ego Boyo has addressed long-standing speculations surrounding her absence from the screen.
Eko Hot Blog reports that she clarified that her decision to step away from acting was entirely personal and not influenced by her husband.

The actress made this known during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, where she revealed that stepping behind the camera allowed her to tell stories from a different perspective and contribute more meaningfully to the growth of Nollywood as a Producer.
During the interview, Ego explained that she made the decision to step away from acting after discovering her passion for producing movies.
She also debunked the rumours surrounding her absence stating the decision was hers and not because she got married according to rumours.
” I found I enjoyed producing more than I enjoyed acting. The blogs wanted to make it to make it more sensational but it was too boring”
Ego rose to prominence in the 1990s, famous for her roles in the dramas Checkmate and Violated.
The talented actress remains engaged in the industry and an astute advocate for education and women empowerment.
