The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially released the schedule of activities for the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State
Eko Hot Blog reports that, the comprehensive timetable, signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, outlines the crucial dates for aspirants and party members, including the cost to contest for the position.

According to the report, the process is already underway with the “Notice of election,” issued on July 25, 2025. This was followed by the “Update of Membership Register,” which began on July 28 and will conclude on August 15. The party has made it clear that only members with updated dues and names on the register will be eligible to vote or be a candidate.
For governorship aspirants, the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms will begin on August 18 and end on September 2, 2025. The total cost for these forms has been set at a significant ₦50,000,000. However, the party has announced a progressive discount policy, offering price reductions for female aspirants, persons with disabilities, and a 50% discount on the nomination form for youths between the ages of 25 and 40.
The schedule further details that the screening of aspirants will be conducted from September 23 to 24, with the results to be published a day later. The primary election to select the party’s flag-bearer is slated for October 27, 2025.
The official campaign period for the election is set to begin on April 6, 2026, and will end just before the main gubernatorial election, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026.
