Lagos State continues to record impressive progress in governance, infrastructure, innovation, and human capital development, driven by the purposeful leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

According to the PGF report, Governor Sanwo-Olu upheld transparency and inclusive governance by launching the 2025 to 2027 Civic Engagement Blueprint and swearing in 57 newly elected local government and LCDA chairmen.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also strengthened international partnerships by hosting the U.S. Consul General and a delegation from the Georgia House of Assembly.
Institutional reforms, such as improvements in asset disposal frameworks and civil service training, were implemented to boost efficiency and accountability in the state’s public administration.
In terms of infrastructure, July saw a surge of completed projects including roads across Alimosho, Agege, Bariga, and Mushin. New fire stations, markets, and ICT hubs were also commissioned.
A major highlight was the signing of a 500 billion naira “Produce for Lagos” agreement with four states to secure food supply chains and logistics.

Drainage upgrades in areas like Parkview and Banana Island improved climate resilience, while strict enforcement against illegal developments protected the state’s urban planning efforts.
Education and youth development were also central to the administration’s achievements. The state inducted 1,500 new teachers and inaugurated five technical colleges. LASUBEB launched inclusive libraries, while Education District II created an Innovation Committee.
A 10 million naira prize was awarded to LASU’s best student, and access to model colleges was expanded, reaffirming Lagos’ commitment to merit-based education. STEM awards and outreach initiatives further encouraged youth excellence.
On the economic front, Lagos attracted major investments and hosted the successful Invest Lagos 2.0 summit. Governor Sanwo-Olu unveiled a 40 billion naira Deal Book and forged partnerships with Adidas and Siemens to advance clean energy, sports, and local industries.
Reforms in land use charge and property titling were introduced to strengthen fiscal sustainability and investor trust.
Health and human services saw the ILERA EKO health fund triple to 3 billion naira, with major outreach programs launched across communities.
New LASAMBUS ambulance stations, health campaigns, and AI-powered innovations at primary health centers positioned Lagos as a leader in digital healthcare. Over 13,500 sickle cell patients were enrolled under new public-private health initiatives.
In the legal and institutional reform space, the state implemented seven new laws focusing on governance, consumer protection, and emergency services.
Election tribunal panels were inaugurated, and the judiciary supported alternative dispute resolution across MDAs. Capacity building in the Auditor General’s office and enforcement of parking and land use laws underscored a commitment to law, order, and reform.
The agricultural sector saw renewed focus through the “Produce for Lagos” initiative, a 500 billion naira partnership with Niger, Kogi, Taraba, and Ogun States aimed at securing food supply chains.
Lagos also promoted agritourism and supported cultural events like the Kayokayo Festival with free fish distribution as a gesture of food security and cultural preservation.
In social welfare, inclusive policies continued with expanded support for the elderly, persons with disabilities, and women.
LASODA implemented mental health and ethics training, while women and retirees received empowerment resources.
Over 7,300 students joined the Anti-GBV Kings and Queens Club, and safety education was scaled up in schools. Cultural and religious programs were also supported by the Pilgrims Board.
The PGF concluded that Lagos State, under Governor Sanwo-Olu’s leadership, remains a beacon of innovation, strategic planning, and developmental impact in Nigeria.
With visible progress across all sectors including health, education, infrastructure, economy, and governance, Lagos continues to align with national goals and serves as a model for other states.
