The Lagos State Government has urged residents to strengthen cooperation with security agencies to enhance the safety of lives and property across the state.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that while speaking at the opening of the 2025 Police Youth Dialogue held at the ASSBIFI Event Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende, stressed that public safety requires the collective involvement of every stakeholder.

Ogunlende said achieving a safer Lagos depends on the active participation of all citizens, noting that collaboration between the people and law enforcement is essential for peace and order.

He described the event’s theme, “The Power of Partnership: Cultivating Trust and Understanding Between Youth and Law Enforcement Agencies,” as timely and in line with the state’s vision to foster inclusivity, dialogue, and stronger community ties.
According to the commissioner, the dialogue offers a platform for young people and security operatives to engage constructively, exchange ideas, and build mutual trust.
In his remarks, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Jimoh Moshood, commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for initiating the Police Youth Dialogue through the Ministry of Youth and Social Development. He urged the youth to see the police as partners in progress rather than opponents.

Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, said the initiative highlights the government’s commitment to youth empowerment and peaceful coexistence.
Guest speaker, Ibrahim Sodiq Duroorike, encouraged participants to maintain a positive approach and work closely with security agencies, emphasizing that partnership between the youth and police is key to achieving a safer, more secure society.
