President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to the government and people of Benue State over the death of Chief Audu Ogbeh, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement issued on Saturday, August 9, the President also extended his sympathy to the late elder statesman’s family, friends, and associates.

Chief Ogbeh, who died at the age of 78, held various public service positions, including Minister of Communications during the Second Republic and Minister of Agriculture under President Muhammadu Buhari.
He began his political journey in the 1970s as a legislator and was among the founding members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
President Tinubu acknowledged Ogbeh’s intellectual contributions to policy formulation and his ability to propose practical solutions to complex national issues.

“Chief Audu Ogbeh was a patriot whose wisdom, dedication, and pursuit of progress left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s political landscape. He was always ready with facts and figures to support his propositions.
“The nation will sorely miss his insightful perspectives and wealth of experience,” President Tinubu said.
He prayed for the repose of the late politician’s soul and asked God to comfort his family during this period of loss.
