Authorities in Los Angeles County are investigating a break-in at a toy shop in La Puente, where a group of masked suspects made off with an estimated $7,000 worth of collectible Labubu dolls early Wednesday morning.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the suspects arrived at the store using a stolen Toyota Tacoma, which was later recovered shortly after the theft. The incident occurred in La Puente, a suburban city roughly 29 kilometers east of downtown Los Angeles.

While investigators are still piecing together the full scope of the crime, the store’s owners say the burglars not only emptied their entire Labubu inventory but also left the premises in disarray.
Surveillance footage posted on social media by One Stop Shop, the affected toy vendor, shows multiple individuals clad in hoodies and face coverings forcefully entering the store. The video captures the group rummaging through shelves and carrying away boxes filled with merchandise.

The store wrote on Instagram that they were devastated and overwhelmed adding that they are still coming to terms with the loss. The post called on the public to assist in identifying the perpetrators, asking followers to share any tips or leads.
Labubu dolls, known for their quirky, toothy expressions and whimsical designs, have surged in popularity in recent years. Originally created by Hong Kong-based illustrator Kasing Lung, the figurines have gained cult status among collectors around the world, making them a lucrative target for theft.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the Sheriff’s Department says the investigation remains active. Officials are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
Investigations are still ongoing as local authorities aim to resolve the concerns as soon as possible.
