Speaking during an X Space session titled Weekend Politics, the former Rivers State governor assured that he would be “deeply devoted” to the candidate’s campaign to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election.
“In a free and fair primary, whoever wins will have my full support. I will be deeply devoted to the campaign and will do everything in my ability to help ADC unseat this current clueless government,” Amaechi said.
He further criticised the ongoing coastal road project, describing it as “a road for stealing” and vowed to prioritise electoral reforms if elected president. “Electoral reforms are the lowest hanging fruits for me if I become President. There will be electoral reforms in my first six months,” he stated.

Amaechi also addressed claims about the emergence of the late Muhammadu Buhari as Nigeria’s president, challenging those who claim credit to reveal their actual contributions.
“God and the Nigerian people chose Buhari as President over any other candidate,” he said. “If somebody claims that Buhari became President because of them, they should explain how much they contributed and what else they did.”
His remarks come amid long-standing assertions that President Tinubu’s political influence played a decisive role in Buhari’s 2015 victory.
