In alignment with the Lagos State Government’s environmental sustainability drive, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, today led the 2025 Tree Planting Exercise at the LCDA Secretariat, Agbowa.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the event, themed “Trees for Lagos”, was attended by the First Lady of Ikosi-Ejinrin, Dr. Olajumoke Ajoke Anomo, the Vice-Chairman, Alh. Wasiu Dehinsilu, the Chief of Staff, councillors, management staff, and members of the Department of Environment.
Together, they planted trees within the council premises to combat climate change, improve air quality, and promote a greener environment.
Speaking at the event, Akogun Anomo stressed the far-reaching benefits of tree planting for both present and future generations.
“This is more than just planting a tree; it is about planting hope, ensuring clean air, and leaving behind a healthy environment for our children,” he said.
The Chairman pledged that his administration would continue to support and expand environmental projects across all wards in Ikosi-Ejinrin.
“We are committed to working hand-in-hand with the Lagos State Government to create a sustainable and healthier environment for all,” he added.
The 2025 Tree Planting Exercise also reaffirmed the council’s support for Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s green initiative, which seeks to integrate climate resilience and environmental protection into local governance.
