In Kaduna, security forces have arrested a man they suspect was planning to buy votes. The suspect, Shehu Aliyu Patangi, was caught with a large sum of money, specifically N25,963,000, just hours before a local election on Saturday.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Police and the Department of State Services (DSS) arrested a suspect at a hotel in Kaduna early in the morning. According to the police, their investigation shows the money he was carrying was for bribing voters and interfering with the election.

The police spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the arrest. He stated that the suspect admitted to the crime and asked for mercy. The Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, warned that anyone trying to interfere with the election would be punished.

The police also strongly warned politicians and their supporters to avoid violence or any illegal activities. They stated that they have intelligence indicating some politicians are planning to cause trouble.
To prevent this, security officers have deployed to polling stations and other key locations.
The police have promised citizens that they will be safe to vote without fear. They also warned that they will arrest and prosecute anyone caught causing trouble, buying votes, or acting violently, regardless of their status.
