A 50 year old man, Modu Isa, has been rescued after attempting to take his own life in Bama, Borno State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the incident was revealed by counter insurgency expert and security analyst, Zagazola Makama, in a post on his X account on Saturday.

Makama explained that the event occurred on Friday evening at Hausari Ward and was quickly reported by community members who rushed to save him.
According to witnesses, Isa stabbed himself three times in the stomach before cutting off his penis with a knife.
Reports indicated that he took the action because his former wife, Bayanxe Modu of Konduga, whom he had divorced three times, refused to return to his house.
Police were said to have led a patrol team to the scene, recovered the knife as evidence, and evacuated the victim to General Hospital, Bama, where he is now receiving treatment.
Sources added that the case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department in Maiduguri for further investigation.
