Former Governor of Ogun State and veteran journalist, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, has showered glowing commendations on Honorable Tunji Bello for his humility, consistency, and enduring commitment to public service, following the commissioning of a multipurpose auditorium donated to Lagos State University (LASU), Epe Campus.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Osoba, who described Bello as a distinguished professional and fellow journalist, said the project stood as a symbol of selflessness at a time when many leaders would rather focus on personal celebration.

“He chose not to throw a big birthday party but instead invested the money into a legacy of humility and service. That is the mark of a man committed to humanity,” Osoba remarked.
He highlighted Bello’s long history of philanthropy, recalling that the former Commissioner began laying down educational legacies from his 50th birthday when he instituted scholarship awards for indigent students in Lagos State.
“From his 50th till now, he has continued to build on that foundation, and today we are witnesses to another milestone with this magnificent auditorium for LASU,” he noted.
The elder statesman expressed deep pride in Bello’s ability to remain true to his word, saying that such commitment is rare in public life.
According to him, Bello’s story is proof that celebrations can transcend momentary enjoyment and be turned into enduring contributions that benefit society.
Osoba also stressed that the younger generation of journalists and leaders must take a cue from Bello’s example, adding that Nigeria needs more figures who channel their resources toward knowledge, education, and empowerment rather than flamboyance.
“This auditorium is not just a building; it is a lasting testimony of what it means to live a life of purpose,” he said.
He further prayed for Bello’s long life and strength to continue impacting society positively, urging others to emulate the gesture.
“We must begin to measure our worth not by the size of the parties we throw but by the legacies we leave behind,” Osoba concluded.
