A woman identified as Modupe Alasin has reportedly died after being brutally assaulted by her husband in Efon Alaaye, Ekiti State, over alleged lateness to the farm.

According to Eko Hot Blog, eyewitnesses said the victim cried out for help and pleaded for mercy as her husband flogged her repeatedly.

Moments later, the man allegedly instructed her to fetch water from a nearby stream, but she collapsed by the riverbank and died, apparently from exhaustion.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State Police Command, SP Sunday Abutu, said the suspect had been arrested and the case is under investigation.
