The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested numerous suspects and seized large quantities of illicit substances in a series of nationwide operations. The agency intercepted drugs concealed in petrol tankers, deep freezers, and sacks of animal feed, among other items.
According to NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi, officers in Anambra State arrested a 75-year-old grandfather, Uchelue Ikechukwu, with 26.7kg of skunk, Eko Hot Blog Reports.

At the Abuja-Kaduna tollgate, operatives intercepted 104,900 capsules of tramadol hidden in a fuel tanker, leading to the arrest of the driver, Hassan Buba. The agency believes the drugs were heading to insurgents in Borno State.

The NDLEA also made major seizures in other states. In Nasarawa, two suspects were caught with over 100,000 pills of tramadol and Rohypnol hidden in a deep freezer. In Taraba State, operatives, with support from other security agencies, destroyed a massive 71.5-hectare cannabis farm.
The agency also arrested a major opioid supplier in Borno and a drug kingpin in Ekiti after seizing large quantities of narcotics, including cannabis strains like Loud and Colorado.
