The Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday, September 4, 2025, held its 10th Annual Constituency Stakeholders’ Meeting simultaneously across the 40 constituencies of the state, with the theme: Governance in Action: The Gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Ogunkelu Sylvester, Member representing Epe Constituency II, warmly welcomed stakeholders, community leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, women associations, and residents, describing the meeting as a unique opportunity to deepen participatory governance and strengthen the bond between government and the people.

Hon. Ogunkelu emphasized that the annual engagement provides a viable platform to give an account of stewardship, interact with constituents, and collectively address pressing developmental challenges.
Speaking on the significance of the theme, Ogunkelu lauded the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that governance has moved beyond promises to tangible achievements.
He highlighted reforms in economic recovery, infrastructure development, security architecture, digital transformation, agriculture, education, and healthcare, noting that these strides are yielding measurable impact across the nation and in Lagos State.
“Our renewed hope is not merely a slogan, but a call to action and a vision in progress,” he said, assuring that the Lagos State House of Assembly remains committed to the welfare and well-being of every Lagosian.
The lawmaker praised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration for its transformative urban renewal projects, technology-driven service delivery, and collaboration with the Assembly to pass progressive laws in housing, transportation, environmental sustainability, security, and education.
He further revealed that the Lagos Assembly has passed over 467 resolutions, establishing institutions like LASRRA, LASTMA, Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps, and enacting laws that enhance healthcare access, housing ownership, and tertiary education.
Hon. Ogunkelu urged stakeholders to continue supporting the government through active civic participation, stressing that governance thrives on collaboration between the executive, legislature, judiciary, civil society, and the people.
“We remain strongly committed to raising the standards of legislative excellence and positioning Lagos State as a beacon of democracy and good governance,” he affirmed.
The meeting concluded with interactive sessions where constituents shared concerns, proffered solutions, and applauded the Lagos Assembly for sustaining the decade-long tradition of grassroots engagement.
