The Ad-hoc Committee on Flood Mitigation and Planning on Wednesday submitted its final report to the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa.
Eko Hot Blog reports that report outlined the extent of flooding across affected communities within the council area and recommended solutions to address the recurring menace.

Presenting the findings, the committee highlighted the devastating impact of flooding on residents, infrastructure, and the environment.
It further recommended both short-term and long-term strategies, including improved drainage systems, community sensitization, and the adoption of sustainable environmental practices.
In his response, Hon. Olowa praised the committee’s work and assured that the report would be thoroughly studied for immediate action.
“I want to commend the committee for its dedication and thorough work,” he said. “The local government will not take this lightly. We will work with relevant stakeholders to implement effective and lasting solutions that will safeguard the lives and properties of our people.”
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to proactive governance, the chairman pledged to continue investing in policies and projects that will make Ibeju-Lekki more resilient against environmental challenges.
