The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has inspected the dredging site at Abijo alongside the 1.3km road that links the Lekki-Epe Expressway to the site.
Eko Hot Blog reports that during the inspection, Hon. Olowa received proposals from dredging companies willing to partner with the council in constructing the long-abandoned road.

According to him, the project will open new opportunities for businesses and enhance the economic viability of the area.
“Improved accessibility to this site will not only support dredging activities but will also revive other investments that have been crippled by the poor state of the road,” he said.
Many abandoned hotel buildings and event centers were sighted along the stretch, reflecting the adverse impact of the bad road on businesses.
However, the council boss expressed optimism that the planned intervention will change the narrative.
“This road, when constructed, will attract future investments, create jobs, and bring prosperity not only to the dredging sites but to every other business within the area,” Olowa stated.
The chairman further assured residents and stakeholders of his administration’s determination to ensure sustainable infrastructure development across the local government.
